Saturday Spoils

***Join me over at my new blog:  Life a la Mode***

I adore going to thrift shops.  They provide all manner of entertainment and cheap thrills (get it?  Cheap. Thrift.  I'll be here all week folks).  Like when you find 2 nightstands for 5 bucks.  Not each.  Total.  Five buckaroos.  Granted there are some repairs to the drawers but I'm willing to risk it for 5 bucks.  Did I mention that was for TWO nightstands?  The guy probably thought I was nuts.  They are your typical ugly nightstands but I've got plans for these bad boys one day.  Not sure exactly what yet, but I'll figure it out.  It will likely involve a date with Annie Sloan :-).

I also found this gem, a seat that was part of an old school desk.  It was $12.99.  So exciting!

I'm not sure I have the heart to do anything to this gal - I love her just as she is.  So far all I've done is clean her up and put her next to my front door:

But I am considering maybe stencil some awesomeness on to her.  Maybe a French "stamp" or I am so in love with union jacks I was thinking painting one off center on her.  Any thoughts or suggestions?  I think this might take me a while to decide because I do so love her as she is.  There is something so lovely about something in it's raw state.  But do I have the restriant?  Not sure, so I need your help on this one!  What do you think?
All in all it was quite a good day at the thrift shops, wouldn't you say?  And I spent less than 20 bucks.  "Can't put a price on that." - Michael Scott

  1. You made some nice finds. I think a french stamp would look great.

  3. The little desk chair is adorable! Never would have thought to put it on the porch. Can't wait to see what you do with those two nightstands!

  4. Yes, thrift stores are my not-so-secret addiction, there when I need a pick-me-up, and a constant source of soon-to-be-inspired projects :) I WANT that school chair, but since you got there first (rules of thrifting), good for you! My vote is for f faded french label :)
